Call for Workshop Proposals

We are delighted to invite proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with IEEE MIPR 2026. The workshops are intended to provide a comprehensive forum for emerging topics that complement the main conference program, encouraging in-depth discussion, hands-on exchange, and community building around cutting-edge multimedia research areas. We envision the MIPR 2026 workshops as the most exciting and diverse in the conference's history — a gathering that will spark new collaborations, inspire bold ideas, and bring together the world's leading multimedia minds.

We strongly encourage proposals that go beyond traditional technical boundaries, exploring the intersection of multimedia with artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, generative creativity, and the rich tapestry of human culture and arts. Our goal is to create a workshop program that not only advances the state of the art but also inspires and delights—a true celebration of multimedia's transformative potential.

Workshop Themes: Beyond Technology, Toward Transformation

While proposals on any multimedia-related topic are welcome, we are particularly interested in workshops that address emerging frontiers and interdisciplinary horizons. Based on the latest developments in the field and the MIPR 2026 Call for Papers, we encourage themes that include but are not limited to:

  • Multimodal Agents and Interactive Systems
  • Embodied AI and World Models
  • Generative AI and Creative Multimedia
  • Trustworthy and Responsible Multimedia AI
  • AI for Science and Scientific Discovery
  • Multimedia for Cultural Heritage, Arts, and Creative Industries
  • Real-World Multimedia Applications
  • Emerging Frontiers: Synthetic Data, Reasoning, and Efficiency

Workshop Formats

Workshops may be proposed as half-day or full-day events. We encourage creative formats that go beyond traditional paper presentations, including:

  • Interactive poster sessions and demos
  • Panel discussions with leading experts
  • Challenge problems and hackathons
  • Invited talks that spark debate and inspiration

Accepted workshops will be provided with a meeting room equipped with AV facilities, coffee breaks, and logistical support. Workshop proceedings will be published through IEEE and included in the conference proceedings.

Proposal Submission Guidelines

Workshop proposals must be submitted in PDF format and should not exceed 4 pages. Proposals should be submitted electronically via the Microsoft CMT submission system at the following link: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/MIPR2026
